Epic Calligraphy Fails (and my subsequent recovery)

So Mother’s Day Weekend (which is when I completed this piece) was a complete and utter wreck artistically. My drawing sucked, my calligraphy sucked, just major blah. So I started the week following in a bit of a mood (Himself would probably say “A bit? A bit?“)

I’m not sure what the mental block was. I’m not sure why five words completely stumped me calligraphically (I don’t think that’s a word, but lets make it one).

Yeah, so after I figured out I had spaced everything wrong I stopped.

Almost, but still the spacing was off. I didn't finish that last

Almost, but still the spacing was off. I didn’t finish that last “L” on “legendary” because I knew it was hopeless.

And this wasn't bad, but again, spacing was off. Off off off.

So I was very despondent at this point, but I decided to give it another go. And I produced something I’m not ashamed of calling mine:

Finally!

Finally!

In a frame.

In a frame.

This piece is available in my Etsy shop. I’m still trying to figure out how I want to organize my etsy store; this is currently in the calligraphy section but tomorrow I may decide I hate everything and rearrange everything (I don’t have issues. Heh).

Materials utilized (affiliate links are included, I’ll only link to stuff I actually use):

My Strathmore%20Mixed Media Paper Pad, 9 by 12-Inch, 15 SheetsStrathmore paper
