A dirge, in memory of a loving man.

I will cry.

I will cry.

When the sky,

Falls on down.

I will cry.

I will cry.

When the sky,

Falls on down.

And I’ll weep for the angel with his broken wings

And I’ll weep for the children with their broken dreams.

I will cry.

I will cry.

When the sky,

Falls on down.

I will cry.

I will cry.

When the sky,

Falls on down.

And I’ll weep for the boy, down by the sea,

And I’ll weep for the man, serving his country

I will cry.

I will cry.

When the sky,

Falls on down.

I will cry.

I will cry.

When the sky,

Falls on down.

And I’ll weep for the girl, in the mountains so cold,

Angels cry for the woman and her prayers hold

I will cry.

I will cry.

When the sky,

Falls on down.

I will cry.

I will cry.

When the sky,

Falls on down.

And I’ll weep for the mother her heart gone

And my heart weeps with her and gives her this song.

I will cry.

I will cry.

When the sky,

Falls on down.

I will cry.

I will cry.

When the sky,

Falls on down.

And I’ll weep and I will mourn

In ashes I will mourn

And I’ll weep and I will mourn

In the dust I will mourn

I will cry.

I will cry.

When the sky,

Falls on down.

I will cry.

I will cry.

When the sky,

Falls on down.

Father please welcome this Uncle of mine

Bring him and hold him in the house that’s thine.

I will cry.

I will cry.

When the sky,

Falls on down.

I will cry.

I will cry.

When the sky,

Falls on down.

My Uncle, my namesake, left us last Monday in a very abrupt and terrible way.  I don’t have a lot of words to describe him but he was a wonderful person and reached a lot of people with his love and care.  I will miss him and pray his soul safely into God’s hands.  I will cry, for the sky, it fell down.
