Green glass on a desert floor, a carpet made from war.

There was a tune when I wrote it, there isn’t one now, I had a heart when I spoke it, I wish I could remember how.

Every thing is gonna be fine

take my heart, wrapp’d in twine

hold my soul, save me for the last

cemetary, oaken dyed maple

so sweeten, heard hearts if able.

pieced together like fractured glass

Walk away,

—Walk away,

———Tell my soul I want to stay

—Walk away,

Walk away, aye.

Walk away,

—Walk away,

———Tell my heart, Its not today

—Walk away,

Walk away, aye.

And I’m found in this place,

In a world without a face,

and I don’t know how to go home

and I’m hurt and amazed

at all the myrid ways

that I keep being told to roam.

Walk away,

—Walk away,

———Tell my soul I want to stay

—Walk away,

Walk away, aye.

Walk away,

—Walk away,

———Tell my heart, Its not today

—Walk away,

Walk away, aye.

To be oblivious,

we look for things outside us,

we hunt for words that never come.

To break through our own trust

we close eyes, let them rust

we seek hope in a cup of rum.

Walk away,

—Walk away,

———Tell my soul I want to stay

—Walk away,

Walk away, aye.

Walk away,

—Walk away,

———Tell my heart, Its not today

—Walk away,

Walk away, aye.
