2016: The Year In Review

Sometimes I just have to give myself a pat on the back. My monthly and yearly recaps are s0 much fun to look back at, keep me motivated, inspire me onwards: they were a truly magnificent idea.

This is what I wrote about my goals for 2016. I want to pat past self on the head: I really had no idea what I was doing. I’m sure future me will also want to pat current me on the head in several months. In case you don’t want to read an entire entry, these were my goals:

  • Assemble the most awesome art booth EVER.
  • Reach 300 sales on Etsy.
  • Take another art class so I continue to grow as an artist.
  • Figure out what I want to do when I grow up.

I did assemble an awesome art booth:

I did not reach 300 sales on Etsy, but here are the stats comparing 2015 and 2016:

I did not take an art class. Instead I learned how to make books:

And figuring out what I want to do when I grow up? It’s this. I know there’s no guarantee when it comes to being self-employed, but I more than quadrupled my stats this year. I attended not one, but three, art fairs. I finally got all my business ducks in a row (I’m terrible at the financial end). I have SO MANY IDEAS for next year, and I’ve already started making purchases that will grow my business (well, that’s the plan;).

So we’re gonna keep truckin’. The shop is on vacation, we all need a break, we need to focus on Christmas … but we’ll be back January 6th. I’ll have a new line of products to debut and I’ll be reorganizing what already exists. I am SO excited.

So Art On, my friends. Always art on.
